Sustainability Takes Centre Stage at Yeşim Group
Yeşim Group brought employees together to build sustainability awareness through its annual Sustainability Month, held every September. Featuring talks, training sessions, a documentary screening, an awards ceremony, a swap event and development programmes, the month culminated in a vibrant finale with the sixth edition of the Sustainability Festival.
As part of Sustainability Month, Yeşim Group reaffirmed its sustainability vision through the sixth edition of its Sustainability Festival. With strong employee participation, the festival highlighted the role of sustainability awareness in the Group’s workplace culture. Throughout the month, employees came together for a diverse programme designed to embed Yeşim’s values and raise awareness of a sustainable future. Alongside talks, training sessions, a documentary screening and a swap event, the programme featured quizzes, workshops and a range of physical and mental activities. The events offered employees opportunities to enjoy shared experiences while deepening their understanding of sustainability.
At an awards ceremony held as part of Sustainability Month, certificates were presented to employees who had completed the Sustainability Training and Development Programme and the Corporate Transformation Programme for Personal Development. Teams whose sustainability initiatives had achieved recognition on national and international platforms received the Sustainability Honour Award.
The annual Sustainability Festival, held as part of Sustainability Month, was celebrated with great enthusiasm for the sixth time. In his opening remarks, Mutlu Toksöz, Sustainability Director at Yeşim Group, emphasised the significance of Sustainability Month for the Group: “Putting sustainability into practice together across so many different areas is immensely valuable for our company. At first glance, sustainability may seem like a vast and complex subject. We talk about climate change, water, energy, waste and recycling. Yet sustainability is, in essence, the sum of the small decisions we make in our daily lives: avoiding unnecessary consumption, disposing of waste correctly, not wasting energy and, most importantly, doing all of this together and making it a habit. Our aim at today’s festival is for you to explore and enjoy a range of activities designed to deepen your understanding of sustainability and raise awareness.”
Dilek Cesur, Corporate Communications and Brand Director at Yeşim Group, highlighted the importance of embedding Yeşim’s values in its corporate culture: “Our corporate culture is built on four core values: We Work with a Passion for Performance, We Walk Hand in Hand with Our Customers, We Succeed Together, and Our Priority is Sustainability. It is very important to us that these values go beyond words, find expression in everyday life and become an integral part of our corporate culture. Throughout the year, we organise a range of activities to connect our employees with Yeşim’s values and bring those values to life together. Our Sustainability Festival is an important part of this approach. This is why, for the past six years, we have placed such importance on the festival and on strengthening sustainability awareness together with our employees. Bringing sustainability back into focus and raising awareness among the wider public is also deeply meaningful to us. Pioneering efforts in this area, providing leadership and inspiring other companies are important aspects of the role we have taken on. I believe that, as in previous years, we will continue to fulfil this role, raising awareness of sustainability and inspiring others.”
Following the opening remarks, awards were presented to employees who had reported occupational health and safety risks and to the winners of the quiz competition. The festival continued throughout the day with a variety of competitions, games and prizes.
